‘Bike For Dad’- Expressing Thai Harmony and Loyalty
‘Bike For Dad’ is a momentous annual event to express the Thai people’s gratitude and loyalty to His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej on the special occasion of his birthday each year on 5 December. On this day, the people of Nan join fellow Thais across the country and beyond to ride bicycles together in a spirit of community and harmony.
The event first started on 27 November 2015 as part of the country’s yearlong celebrations of the 88th birthday of His Majesty The King. Thousands of Thais nationwide and in another 66 countries came together as one to express their gratitude and loyalty to the monarch.

The ‘Bike For Dad’ route in Nan starts off at its main Government Centre, going around town and passing important venues and attractions such as the National Museum of Nan, the famous ancient Phumintra Temple in the old town, to the Nakinthanarak Buddha Yard and lots more. There are also fun activities for participants and spectators at rest points along the way. Expect lots of cheers and encouragement from spectators who line the route!

Tourists and foreign residents are welcome to join in the ride.
